Monel coils are mainly composed of a nickel-copper alloy with approximately 63% nickel and as much as 34% copper, and traces of iron, manganese, and other metals. This material offers superior resistance to a vast array of corrosive environments, such as seawater, acids, alkalis, and high-temperature steam. Monel alloys, for example, Monel 400 and Monel K500, possess high tensile strength (as much as 550 MPa in the case of Monel 400 and more in the case of K500), combined with outstanding toughness and stress corrosion cracking resistance.
