Inconel 690 bars are produced from a nickel-chromium alloy containing high chromium content, which provides higher resistance to oxidation, carburization, and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in oxidizing as well as acidic conditions. The alloy has excellent tensile properties, good creep strength, and retains mechanical properties at high temperatures up to approximately 980°C. Inconel 690 is also resistant to crevice and pitting corrosion, therefore, it can find application in exposure to chlorides and other corrosive agents.
