Hastelloy W Wire is a nickel-based alloy that’s solid-solution-strengthened, primarily made up of nickel (about 65%), along with molybdenum (5–6%), iron (4–5%), cobalt (2–3%), and trace amounts of manganese, silicon, and carbon. This unique blend gives it remarkable resistance to high-temperature oxidation and thermal fatigue. It’s also known for its good weldability and ability to maintain mechanical strength during thermal cycling. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 700 MPa, yield strength close to 300 MPa, and an elongation of about 35–45%, making it ideal for critical joining tasks in extreme conditions.
